Geographical situation
This school is located in Carrefour Marose, a small town in the region of Petit-Goave, about 2.5hrs from Port-au-Prince.

Description
• 304 students
• 9 teachers
• 9 classrooms in 2 buildings
• Administrative office
• East building demolished; west building is damaged

Assessment of the building
The buildings have suffered severe damages (over 50%) from the 2010 earthquake. The damage at this school is extensive – 1 building completely demolished (east); rubble removed already but they ran out of means to continue demolition and reconstruction. We would like to repair part of the school (west building), and rebuild the other part (east building). There is a water well on property, which we may improve. Courtyard should be leveled.

Latest update
The unit on the right side is complete, students and teachers have been using it since back to school in September 2014. The unit on the left side is almost complete, awaiting finishing touches (clean-up, installation of light fixtures, some courtyard floor leveling, install restrooms hardware). The main cause for multiple construction delays is the lack of security in the Petit-Goave area since summer 2014. Oftentimes, demonstrations block the main road (National Road no. 1) which is the only to get from Port-au-Prince to Petit-Goave. Additionally, there have been some violent incidents which have made it unsafe for workers to be in the area. We hope that soon this work can be completed, and that students and teachers can use both school buildings fully.
